Turboshop + Google Merchant Center: your products in Google Shopping

Google Merchant Center is a free Google service that puts your store's products into Google Shopping: product ads and free listings. Turboshop generates the product feed automatically — titles, prices, stock and photos stay in sync on their own. All you do is create an account and paste the feed link.

What the Google Merchant Center integration gives you

Google Shopping product ads

Your products appear with a photo and price above the regular Google results — shoppers see the offer before visiting the site and click with intent to buy.

Free product listings

Merchant Center shows your products even with no ad budget — in the Shopping tab and other Google surfaces. An extra free sales channel for your store.

Dynamic remarketing

Win back visitors who browsed products on your site: Google shows them the exact catalog items they were interested in.

Accurate data with no manual work

Prices and availability in the feed update automatically — Google Merchant won't reject a product over mismatched data, and you never enter anything by hand.

How to connect Google Merchant Center

Four steps to get your products into Google Shopping.

Create a Merchant Center account

Sign up for Merchant Center with your Google account — the service is free.

Verify your website

Confirm ownership of your store's domain in the Merchant Center settings.

Paste the Turboshop feed link

Copy the product feed link from your Turboshop dashboard and add it to Merchant Center.

Products sync automatically

Google reads the feed regularly: new products, prices and stock flow in on their own.

What the Turboshop product feed can do

Complete product data

Title, description, photos, category and a link to the product page — the feed carries everything Google needs to show your product in Google Shopping.

Prices and availability

An up-to-date price and stock status in every update — shoppers never see a product that is out of stock.

Google format out of the box

The feed meets Merchant Center requirements with no extra work: create a store and the feed link is already waiting in your dashboard.

Google’s Product Feed Requirements

Google only accepts a product into Shopping when the feed carries a complete data set that matches the product page on your site. On Turboshop the feed is generated from your catalog automatically — but the quality of the product cards is on you. Here is what Google checks.

Required attributes

Product id, title, description, product page link, image link, price, availability and condition. Missing any one of them and the item is rejected as the feed is fetched.

GTIN, MPN and brand

For branded goods Google expects unique identifiers: a GTIN barcode (EAN/UPC) or the manufacturer part number MPN together with the brand name. Own-production items need no GTIN — but brand and MPN are still worth filling in.

Image requirements

The main photo must show the actual product on a plain background, with no watermarks, store logos, frames or “sale”/“hit” captions. The product should fill most of the frame, and the image must be reachable by a direct link without login.

Title and description

Use the “brand + model + key attribute” formula, with no ALL CAPS, stray symbols or marketing slogans. The description is about the product — not about the store, and not a keyword list.

Price and availability

The feed price must match the price on the product page exactly, currency included. Availability must be truthful: if the item is out of stock it has to be marked as such, not “in stock”.

Requirements for the site itself

The store must run on HTTPS and have payment, delivery and return policy pages plus contact details. This is a formal Google requirement — without them the Merchant Center account will not pass review.

The technical side — feed format, encoding, regular refresh and valid links — is on Turboshop: the feed is generated from your catalog and updated automatically. Create a store for free and the feed is already in your dashboard.

Common Review Errors and How to Avoid Them

Most Merchant Center disapprovals are not about the technical feed — they are about a mismatch between the feed and the site, or about Google’s policies. Here are the errors that most often get items disapproved, and what to do about them.

Feed price does not match the site price

The most common cause of disapproval. It happens when a price was edited manually on the page or a promo price is only shown in the cart. Fix: manage prices in the catalog only — the feed picks them up automatically.

Availability is not truthful

Google crawls the product page: if it says “out of stock” while the feed says “in stock”, the item is removed. Keep stock levels up to date in the catalog and the feed status stays correct.

Watermarks and text on photos

A store logo, a “-50%” badge, a frame or a collage is grounds for disapproval. Use a clean product photo and keep promo badges in the site design, not baked into the image.

Missing or wrong GTIN

If a branded item has no barcode or one was guessed, Google flags the item as failing verification. Take the GTIN from the packaging or the supplier price list, and for own-production goods state explicitly that no identifier exists.

No payment, delivery or return pages

Google requires transparent terms for the buyer. Fill these pages in and add contact details — a one-off task that removes a whole class of rejections.

Prohibited and restricted categories

Some products are banned or restricted in Google Shopping. Check your range against Merchant Center policies before uploading so you do not get a warning on the whole account.

After the feed is fetched, open the diagnostics section in Merchant Center — Google lists every error with the exact item and reason. Fix it in your catalog: the next feed fetch picks the change up automatically.

What to Do After Connecting Merchant Center

A connected feed is not sales yet. Merchant Center only delivers your products to Google; next you have to switch on the surfaces and watch your data quality. A minimal plan for the first weeks looks like this.

Turn on free listings

Free listings show your products in the Shopping tab with no ad budget. It is the first channel to enable right after review — the traffic costs nothing.

Launch product campaigns

Link Merchant Center to a Google Ads account and start a shopping campaign. Ads are assembled from feed data — no separate creatives to write, so the launch is quick.

Set up remarketing

The same catalog brings buyers back: someone who viewed a product sees exactly that product in ads. On Turboshop the feed also works for a Facebook and Instagram catalog.

Watch the feed diagnostics

Check the diagnostics tab weekly: disapproved items are shown nowhere. The fewer errors, the more of your range takes part in auctions.

Improve your product cards

Items with complete data — brand, GTIN, attributes, several photos — win the auction more often. Start with your best sellers: the effect there is the most visible.

Connect other sales channels

Google Shopping works well alongside marketplaces and social networks. See what else connects from the dashboard on the integrations page.

Compare packages on the pricing page.
